Mobile Equipment Mechanic

Maintains and repairs all O&M Maintenance equipment, Grounds vehicles and support equipment. Also performs routine grounds laborer functions as assigned by Valiant Supervisor during staffing needs.

• Service and maintain all equipment/vehicles by being able to check and make replacements and adjustments of various components.
• Check and maintain proper fluid levels, lubrications and assure equipment/vehicles are maintained to manufacturer's specifications.
• Inspect all systems of the equipment/ vehicles such as transmissions, charging systems, tire pressure and wear, wiper blades, battery electrolyte levels. Change oil and filters and lubricate and grease per manufacturer's recommendations.
• Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on all equipment/ vehicles as required.
• Maintain and inventory of parts and supplies and clean and maintain work area.
• Cuts Lawn.
• Trims and edges around walks, flowerbeds and walls.
• Prunes shrubs, and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches or twigs.
• Rakes and bags leaves.
• Cleans grounds and removes litter.
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways.
• Spreads salt and ice melt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup.
• Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
• Waters lawn and shrubs.
• Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
• Makes repairs on equipment such as lawn mowers, chain saws, blowers, weed eaters, tractors, spreaders, snow removal equipment and other vehicles within employee's training / skills.
