The Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Preclinical Pharmacology laboratory spaces. The Lab Manager is a key position in making sure the laboratory space is functional and safe and staff is trained to use of the space. The incumbent will work closely with the senior members of the team to
establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), improve systems, and optimize process related to the lab space and the equipment within the space. The incumbent needs to have a broad knowledge of the workings of a laboratory environment. The incumbent is required to have excellent organization, computer and interpersonal skills.

The salary range is $86,334 - $125,184. Salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

* Manages the daily operation of the lab. Provides guidance, and resolves
problems that arise in laboratory space. Ensures the proper infrastructure is in
place and operating correctly.
* Trains staff on the laboratory basics including but not limited to pipetting, use of all equipment in the lab, and sample processing.
* Assists in developing new processes and procedures related to the lab use to
improve the quality and/or efficiency of the services being provided.
* Oversees the safety protocols in the lab. Stays up-to-date on all safety
procedures. Trains staff on safety protocols and ensure safe practices are
followed.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 5 years experience working in a laboratory.

* In vivo experience working with mice is strongly preferred.
* Must be a self-motivated, team-oriented, patient and disciplined problem solver and solution builder.
* Demonstrated ability to be a positive team player across diverse internal and external organizations.
Ability to work with people across disciplines to gain their cooperation and commitment toward
efficient completion of the group's efforts.

* Flexibility to manage changing day-to-day activities and responsibilities on multiple projects.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
