Position Summary:

The Rental and Turnaround Manager is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing all activities within your area of responsibility. Your role encompasses the end-to-end management of rental operations and industrial turnaround projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Your responsibilities will encompass strategic planning, resource optimization, and ensuring the seamless execution of projects to meet client expectations and industry standards.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with VSS Management to identify and implement strategic turnaround and rental initiatives.
  • Strategically allocate personnel, equipment, and materials to meet projects demands efficiently, optimizing resources a commitment to quality.
  • Manage budgets for rental operations and turnaround projects, monitoring expenditures, and implementing cost effective strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and ensuring the timely delivery of quality materials and service.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of rental operations and turnaround projects.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients, understanding their needs, offering tailored solutions, and maintaining strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Oversees safety, quality, and SOP compliance for all assigned site(s).
  • Prepares and delivers all communications for assigned site(s).
  • Provides training and development to the turnaround and rental teams in order to enhance their technical skills and capabilities.
  • Implements, reinforces, and ensures adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Establish and enforce health and safety protocols to create a secure working environment.
  • Stay current with evolving safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Oversees P & L for area of responsibility.
  • Trains and provides mentorship to others while encouraging career growth. Provides training on required legacy system(s), including products, SOPs, and required competencies.
  • Produces data analytics for all segments of VSS; contributes to the development of data reports for required
  • Ensure employees stay current on safety protocols and technical best practices.
  • Assist with investigations into safety and technical incidents to identify root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct internal and external audits to assess compliance to assess compliance with all VSS standards and objectives.
  • Establish and enforce stringent quality control measures for all rental equipment, conduct regular inspections, and implement maintenance protocols to uphold quality assurance.
  • Participate in succession planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Staff Management Responsibilities:

Direct management of a department, section, unit, or group involving responsibility for results in terms of cost, methods, and personnel. Full accountability for hiring, discipline, discharge, performance appraisals, salary administration, etc.

Job Qualifications:

Associate degree in a relevant discipline and/or 5 - 10 years Industrial Turnaround and Rental Experience. Relevant experience should include:

  • General knowledge of all Industrial turnaround and rental quality and safety standards and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as training instructions, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to develop routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to interface in a customer responsive manner over the telephone and in person and handle difficult customer situations with diplomacy.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • PL Requirements:
    • Areas and/or Departments Sales $'s: $1M to $5M
    • Total of Direct and Indirect Reports < 10
