Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Facilities Maintenance Manager to be based out of Cartersville, GA. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person must display exceptional technical skills, ability to problem solve, and the expertise to provide necessary maintenance solutions. Behaviors such as maintaining a positive attitude and courteous demeanor to create a respectful, professional work environment are essential. The individual in this position must be able to perform high quality work with minimal supervision. This position has supervisory responsibility of the entire maintenance team. The position requires 24/7 on call status for major plant maintenance issues.

What you'll do:



  • Plan, organize, and direct maintenance staff on projects related to maintenance of the shop and equipment, including capital improvement projects.
  • Effectively handle employee relations and disciplinary actions for the maintenance team.
  • Coordinate and manage the activities and scheduling of outside vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure that production proceeds in a smooth, orderly fashion on a day to day basis by scheduling and managing preventative maintenance and repairs throughout the facility
  • Verify proper maintenance and function of all plant activities, such as environmental management and compliance, quality assurance, and processing of jobs
  • Manage preventative maintenance, and TPM program for facility, including Epicor PM software data.
  • Maintain familiarity and technical competence with all process/environmental equipment, its location and function
  • Ensure employees are scheduled and following through with tasks appropriately
  • Maintain familiarity with equipment technology and daily operations and processes to be able to provide correct maintenance
  • Perform general maintenance including small motor repair, electrical and plumbing to assist maintenance team.
  • Perform weekly inventory of shop supplies
  • Submit orders to replenish inventory
  • Delegate jobs and responsibilities as appropriate
  • Follow through and verify maintenance jobs are done in a timely manner while maintaining quality standards
  • Provide training to maintenance personnel
  • Counsel staff regarding work performance and expectations
  • Participates in the disciplinary process as necessary
  • Ability to understand and utilize print to support floor layouts and safety objectives (Osha Regulations)
  • AutoCAD Experience to support equipment moves as well as proper equipment/electrical box placement
  • Management of KPI related to position, water, electrical cost improvements etc...
  • Capable of leading/supporting Cost save initiatives

What you'll bring:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred
  • 10 years working in a plant maintenance leadership role, ideally in an industrial setting.
  • Competency managing a facility wide Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Technical experience in hydraulics, welding, pneumatics, fabrication and electrical hardware is critical.
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean Daily Management principles preferred
  • Must have strong Mechanical and/or Electrical skill sets
  • Strong Computer skills in Excel, Word, Power Point and MS Project
  • Exposure to Computer Aided Maintenance Programs.
  • Effective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques is a must. Great interpersonal skills with a strong ability to communicate both positive and negative messages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, off hours, and variable environment.

Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion program.
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of your team.
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.


Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Update training materials and procedures.
  • Partner with Safety and HR to investigate and provide corrective measures for on-the-job accidents, injuries, production issues, and HR issues.
  • Identify ways to strengthen the team's commitment to Atkore's core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Excellence.


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Be managing an efficient team that delivers Atkore's strategy.
  • Creating and updating reports, training materials and documentation.
  • Have meaningful performance conversations with your direct reports.
  • Be able to resolve any issues quickly and safely.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $99,200 - $136,400. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
