Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrator to support staff and leaders within the Global Security Directorate (GSD). The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and capable of handling multiple tasks with accuracy and professionalism. They will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, contributing to the overall success of the GSD team.


  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the GSD Mission.
  • Schedule, track, record, and coordinate meetings and appointments.
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents.
  • Manage and maintain assigned calendars.
  • Plan and execute administrative and logistical details for Tours/Meetings/Visits/Classes (itinerary, badging, escorting, lunch logistics, etc.).
  • Organize and maintain filing systems and records, both physical and electronic.
  • Serve as the point of contact for facility operations and maintenance personnel for activities in the assigned area (fire safety walkdowns, inspections, carpet repair, furniture replacement, phone issues).
  • Assist with hiring processes, including scheduling interviews, organizing panels, preparing documents, and onboarding new hires.
  • Manage daily office needs and oversee general administrative activities.
  • Assist with the cyclical organization and updating of budget estimates.
  • Handle procurement of supplies and furniture, and coordinate office moves, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Maintain contact lists and manage correspondence (emails, memos, letters, forms).
  • Produce and distribute reports, presentations, and documentation as needed.
  • Handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Ensure the operation of office equipment by completing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Identifies problems and all relevant issues in straightforward situations, assesses each using standard procedures, and makes sound decisions.
  • Works within established procedures with a moderate degree of supervision.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3-5+ years of general administrative experience, or AS/AA in Office Administration or related field and 2-4+ years of general administrative experience, or BS/BA in Business Administration or related field and 0-1+ years of administrative experience.
  • Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a related role.
  • Proficiency in M365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Lists).
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to various audiences.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and maintain meticulous attention to detail in a dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member, fostering positive working relationships across departments.
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is legally required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Business, Communications, or related field and 4-6+ yrs relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with federal guidelines, compliance, regulations, and DOE protocols, including records retention guidelines.
  • Experience in a scientific or research environment, with preference at a DOE Complex or National Laboratory.
  • Active DOE security clearance
