Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing all daily operations at a Graniterock Supply location(s), including team leadership, material handling, customer service, and environmental and safety compliance. This position ensures smooth operations, efficient inventory management, and consistent customer satisfaction through proactive communication, scheduling, and workflow management. The Store Manager serves as the on-site leader/manager, coordinating between sales, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure a best-in-class customer experience, timely material deliveries, optimal resource utilization, and adherence to Graniterock's standards for safety, quality, and service.

Essential Job Accountabilities

  1. Comply, understand, and promote corporate and division safety initiatives to ensure "Safety Before All Else."

  2. Recruit, select, and coach Team Members on performance management to set and communicate objectives, identify and reward employee success, provide advancement opportunities to ensure a high-performance culture.

  3. Ensure world class customer service while providing daily direction to retail sales and yard teams to respond to customer requests, identify needs, create solutions, and ensure a smooth sales process.

  4. Manage site-level financial performance including labor costs, maintenance expenses, and operating budgets.

  5. Lead all site efforts and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements around hiring, safety, environmental and/or any laws or requirements that affect the business.

  6. Support the Sales team with quote management and follow-up, project updates, local customer insights and service improvement feedback.

  7. Establish new customer accounts through walk-in and call-in customers.

  8. Educate customers, retail sales team and yard team on Graniterock materials and services to promote the Company and drive our business.

  9. Support mandatory inventory cycle counting to ensure adequate product on hands and supply chain needs.

  10. Utilize Bistrack system to maintain accurate records of POS, special orders, inventories, and sales pipeline.

Education and Work Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 4+ years of building materials or sales experience required.

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of the construction materials business.

  • Knowledge of Graniterock Supply product uses with the ability to make proper recommendations.

  • Knowledge of general construction business practices.

  • Knowledge of site's environmental best practices.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence others.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to provide leadership in developing productivity measures and establishing processes to eliminate waste, lower costs without compromising quality.

  • Ability to champion Graniterock's Safety culture and drive achievement of zero lost-time injuries/property damage incidents.

  • Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

This position has been identified as a "safety sensitive" role and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing, per the Graniterock Substance Abuse policy.
