Position Summary
An exciting opportunity to join the Human Neurobehavioral Core Service (HNBCS), a dynamic team of researchers and clinicians at Boston Children's Hospital interested in the causes and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Clinical Research Coordinator will assist HNBCS leadership in the coordination and administration of various interdisciplinary research projects including genotype-phenotype studies and clinical trials. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, such as billing, ordering protocols, and communicating with study coordinators, along with performing data collection. The Clinical Research Coordinator will perform cognitive testing (e.g., Bayley-4, Mullen, DAS-II, WPPSI-IV, WISC-V, WASI-II) and other neuropsychological assessments (e.g., language, memory, motor functioning) on enrolled participants. In addition, they will have opportunities to attain reliability and administer diagnostic protocols including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview, Revised (ADI-R). The Clinical Research Coordinator will also be responsible for writing summary research reports for participants. The Clinical Research Coordinator may help to coordinate trainings of study staff and supervise undergraduate student interns. There is also opportunity to perform statistical analysis on existing datasets and work on posters or publications. Flexibility to work on occasional weekends is preferred. Key Responsibilities
  • Works with other investigators/coordinators to develop and communicate study processes prior to each study implementation.
  • Collaborates with investigators/coordinators to schedule research visits.
  • Establishes research reliability on psychological measures listed above and administer assessments to research participants during study visits.
  • Score assessments and study questionnaires and coordinate the return of record forms to studies.
  • Write research reports summarizing the results of the research evaluation.
  • Performs regular operational tasks, including billing and ordering supplies or materials used in studies. Work directly with the hospital and research laboratories to ensure correct testing/processing.
  • Organize and complete special projects when assigned. Some researching of references using the library or internet is necessary; familiarity with databases and data analysis programs (e.g., SPSS) is preferred.
  • Administer and supervise trainings for undergraduate student interns and additional research assistants as needed.
  • Attend coordinators' trainings and rounds, as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree; Master's in psychology or child development related field preferred.
Experience:
  • 1-2 years of related work experience
  • Familiarity of cognitive testing for children, such as the WISC, WPPSI, WASI, and Stanford-Binet preferred. Position will require the assessment of these and other developmental measures to neurotypically developing children and children with neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • Analytical skills to gather and interpret data. SPSS or familiarity with similar programs is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills are required for the job. Superior organizational skills are vital in this position, as is the ability to work independently and prioritize important tasks.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
