PURPOSE:
Support the Sales Support, Engineering, and Outside Sales teams with designs, drawings/layouts, and calculations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Provide drawings and layouts for DuctSox products as required.

Provide sales support for field salespeople and regional sales managers.

Provide design input to sales and engineering staff.

Interface with internal contacts such as Sales Support, manufacturing and purchasing team members.

Design new or revise existing jobs and projects using design and engineering guidelines.

Assist Sales Support team with order entry needs.

Develop 3D solids of DuctSox and building components for Computation Fluid Dynamic (CFD).

Create CAD drawings for concepts, proto typing, testing and final product design documentation.

Maintain consistent organization and maintenance of any project information (e.g. drawing files, correspondence, etc.).

Identify projects requiring special engineering or new product development.

This position requires participation in interdepartmental meetings to help support corporate goals.

Be able to read and understand plans and/or specifications, and provide drawings to meet project requirements.

Develop and enhance processes to provide continuous improvement to engineering and product improvement.

Interface with external contacts such as HVAC engineers, architects and DuctSox Reps.

Answer questions from representatives and customers in the support of DuctSox products

Suggest or select materials, components and/or tolerances as appropriate to ensure product performance meets application needs.

Understand pricing structure of products to provide solution(s) to meet the budget and application requirements of the project.

The incumbent acts as a resource for information and advice regarding special applications.

This position is responsible for generating Bills of Material and Drawings as necessary to support procurement and manufacturing.

Be available to attend jobsite visits to review application needs. Possible overnight travel.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Support sales efforts by supplying timely, accurate technical application assistance.

Develop, implement and document policies and procedure necessary to maximize applications efficiency.

Help reduce cost and improve Engineering/Manufacturing lead times by accurately compiling special product application information and providing accurate list prices, based on approved formulas for those special product requests.

Reduce Corporate liability by specifying proper equipment and installation requirements for all products.

Promote positive customer and representative relationships through timely, accurate and appropriate application assistance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in mechanical engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience as demonstrated by PE certification. Working knowledge in strength of materials and statistics calculations, basic understanding of fabrication and proven problem solving skills required. Previous mechanical design experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to work with mathematical concepts of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and statistics.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
