IES Commercial, Inc. - DBA IES Electrical, seeking full-time Asset Operations Manager - Tool & Equipment in Suffolk, Virginia.

Job Summary

Responsible for the straegic oversight, tracking, and lifecycle management of company tools, equipment, and related assets across multiple job sites. Ensures tools are available, properly maintained, and cost-effectively utilized to support field operations. Partners closely with project management and field leadership to improve efficiency, reduce loss, and maintain compliance with company and safety standards.



  • Oversees and maintains accurate, real-time inventory of company tools and equipment
  • Implements and manages asset tracking systems
  • Coordinates the issuance, transfer, and return of tools across job sites and personnel
  • Conducts routine audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability
  • Monitors tool utilization and identifies opportunities to optimize asset deployment and reduce excess spend
  • Develops and manages preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and repair processes
  • Evaluates tool condition and determines repair vs. replacement recommendations
  • Tracks and manages the full lifecyle of assets from acquisition through disposal
  • Ensures tools meet all safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements (including OSHA standards)
  • Maintains documentation related to inspections, certifications, and service history
  • Analyzes data and provides reporting on asset utilization, loss, damage trends, and cost control
  • Develops and enforces policies and procedures related to tool management and accountability
  • Travels to jobsites as needed.


Qualifications



  • 5+ years of recent experience in tool, equipment, or asset management
  • Experience supporting multiple job sites and field operations
  • Strong working knowledge of asset management systems and inventory control processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel required); experience with asset tracking software preferred
  • Solid understanding of tool maintenance, repair processes, and safety standards
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make operational recommendations
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to jobsites as needed
  • Successfully pass pre-employment (post offer) background check, and MVR check when responsibilities require operating motor vehicles.
