Position Purpose:

Manages the development of new business to include working across various functional areas (underwriting, marketing, claims, information systems, operations, etc.) to provide an integrated approach to the development, analysis, and delivery of new business proposals for large accounts, blue plan partner business, key accounts, and strategic partnerships.

Location:

This position is full-time (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday in a typical office environment. After the training period this will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. This role is located at 4101 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229.

What You'll Do:

  • Manages all activities of proposal development. Responsible for searching out, understanding, verbally articulating detailed analysis of RFPS, RFIS, RFQS, and other documents. Collaborates with management, Subject Matter Experts (SME), and other staff to develop a high quality, winning proposal. Establishes teams across organization to pursue/win new strategic opportunities.
  • Hires, manages, develops skilled staff. Develops/maintains proposal schedule (review and production phases), plans, outlines, assignments, baselines, and storyboards. Researches/analyzes historical data to support proposal efforts. Develops process/work flows and oversees SME proposal contributions to add value/marketing statement.
  • Develops compilation of historical corporate data to provide easy access to resources for proposal library and database of information for other proposals as appropriate.
  • Assists with sales/retention goals and in identifying and qualifying new business opportunities/partnerships and implements strategies for winning new and keeping existing business to include developing sales and training materials. Prepares/gives sales presentations to prospective customers. Meets with select accounts to influence decisions specific to plan design and/or clinical programs in a manner beneficial to the company by conducting financial modeling, trend evaluation, and/or clinical analysis.
  • Develops relationships with current and future partner plans plus other strategic alliances (key internal corporate contacts) to leverage overall competencies to win new products/business.
  • Assists in program and project management as needed.

To Qualify For This Position, You'll Need The Following:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's
  • Required Work Experience: 5 years progressively responsible development experience to include the analysis, management, or administration of business proposals and writing of business proposals.
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills. Ability to flow group strategies and goals from concepts to actionable business plans. Ability to take ownership for complete capture management process. Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to manage, motivate, and assess performance of others.
  • Required Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office.

We Prefer That You Have The Following:

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree- any major
  • Preferred Work Experience: Pharmacy benefit management experience.
  • Preferred Licenses and Certificates: Licensed Health Sales Agent, PAHM, PMP.
