Data Scientist Associate- Onsite

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Data Scientist Associate - Onsite position with a Major Financial Institution located in McLean, VA. This is a 24 month contract opportunity.

This role involves partnering with various stakeholders to influence business decisions with data. The successful candidate will codify existing methodologies into functional code, create automation dashboards using Python, and React libraries, and support business areas with advanced statistical and quantitative analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Partner closely with various stakeholders to influence decisions with data and allow leaders to make key business decisions in a timely manner
• Codify already available methodologies into functional codes and create an automation dashboard using Python and React libraries
• Work as a part of a team to support line of business areas with more advanced statistical and quantitative analysis
• Run models, look for exceptions and take corrective actions where necessary
• Use technology tools to conduct analysis; apply techniques such as SQL querying and macro development to extract data for populating models
• Gain a good understanding of the relevant processes and products in assigned area and apply this knowledge to decide the most appropriate analysis, methodologies and approaches
• Interpret findings and prepare initial drafts of standard reports and prepare ad-hoc reports at the request of managers and/or other leaders
• Translate complex technical concepts and analyses to non-technical audiences

Requirements:

• 3 years of analytical quantitative or portfolio experience
• Hands-on experience in coding and experience bridging gaps between technical and business needs
• At least 3 years of hands-on software development using Python and/or Java with knowledge of application, data and architecture design patterns and principles
• Front end focus with some back-end support using modern Angular (version 16 and up)
• Strong experience in data analytics, statistical modelling, data warehousing, data quality, data migration, data integration, data enrichment, designing, coding, reporting, and testing
• Expertise in SQL and databases (Sybase, Oracle or UDB)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Desired skills:

• Experience with React

Pay range: $48.57 - $52.57 per hour
