AAbout the role: Sr. Design Draftsman 12 Months Richmond, VA - Local Candidates Only Working Conditions Office work environment 76 - 100% Travel up to 25% Outdoors up to 25% Dust/Grease/Oil up to 25% Cold up to 25% Heat up to 25% Fumes up to 25% Loud noise up to 25% You will create and updates drawings used in electrical construction packages (i.e. single lines, wiring diagrams, plan drawings...etc.). You will work directly with other department personnel to clarify intent of designer and/or engineer sketches. You will maintain supplemental project documentation including cable schedules and vendor cut sheets. We may ask you for occasional site visits and other related tasks to meet project needs. You will report to a Supervisor of Design and Documentation and functions as an intermediate level draftsman for the electrical design group. Key Responsibilities: Understand and employ personal safety practices at all times. Become familiar with and employ environmental compliance at all times. Prepare electrical drawings in support of power generation engineering projects per corporate standards General electrical design support for the power generation fleet (i.e. equipment, cable/raceway, and drawing number support) Maintain drawing records per corporate and compliance policies Coordinate site visits and perform field work as necessary Qualifications: Required: High School diploma or GED Preferred: Associate degree in Drafting Knowledge of drafting principles Demonstrated MicroStation and/or AutoCAD proficiency Proficiency in drawing and document management systems (ProjectWise & Documentum preferred) Work in a team environment as a fully engaged and supporting team member Our Safety Pledge to You: If you are as committed to your success as we are committed to your safety, then this is the position for you!
