Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Business Analyst I- Nursing Workforce Planning

At Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK), every role supports worldclass patient care. The Business Analyst I - Nursing partners with Nursing leadership to strengthen workforce operations through data, analytics, and process improvement-ensuring accurate staffing, compliance, and insights that allow nurses to focus on delivering exceptional care.

Role Overview

  • Serve as a nonclinical partner supporting the Nursing Department through workforce management, payroll analysis, and operational reporting.

  • Manage and maintain workforce management systems (e.g., Symplr or similar) to support accurate scheduling, attendance tracking, and timecard reconciliation.

  • Support payrollrelated processes including approvals, pay adjustments, premium pay validation, and compliance monitoring.

  • Analyze staffing, scheduling, and utilization data to support workforce planning and datainformed staffing decisions.

  • Leverage analytics, automation, and AIenabled tools to enhance reporting, forecasting, and operational insights.

  • Utilize Workday, Strata, and related reporting tools to deliver actionable insights to nursing leadership.

  • Perform data quality checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of staffing and payroll information.

  • Serve as a liaison between Nursing, Human Resources, Finance, and other stakeholders to resolve workforce and system issues.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system optimization, and continuous improvement efforts across nursing operations.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience in business analysis, workforce management, healthcare operations, or a related analytical or operational role.

  • Experience using SQL and Tableau

  • Proficiency with workforce management, timekeeping, or HR systems (e.g., Symplr, Workday, Strata, or similar platforms).

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate findings into actionable insights and business requirements.

  • Understanding of payroll processes, timekeeping standards, and regulatory or compliance considerations.

  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Additional Information:

  • Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, Monday - Friday

  • Location: Hybrid; 633 Third Avenue, New York, NY (twice a week)

  • Reporting To Director, Nursing Workforce Resource Management & Staffing Solutions

Pay Range: $92,700.00 - $148,400.00 FSLA Status: Exempt
