Job Description:
Responsibilities:
*As a Metallurgical Engineer, you will be a part of a larger metallurgical laboratory team tasked with assuring the quality of mining and construction equipment and components.
*You will work in a hands-on engineering role supporting industrial part production and processes.
*Your scope of responsibilities will include failure analysis of parts returned from customers as well as qualifying parts based off their metallurgical specifications & requirements.
*Additionally, you will support process engineering, design, manufacturing, and quality teams focused on root cause corrective actions found from the failure analysis & part qualifications.
*This role supports a world class manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, which maintains an ISO accredited certified quality environment.
*The successful candidate will be trained and certified in several ASTM specifications & methods that will help maintain the labs ISO 17025 A2LA accreditation as a certified organization.
*Once trained, qualified candidates will have various lab responsibilities including metallography, microscopy, fractography, non-destructive evaluation, SEM/EDS analysis & interpretation, mechanical testing including tensile & charpy testing, hardness testing and various other aspects of destructive testing.
*Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors of Science in Metallurgical or Materials Science engineering.
