Job Description: Analytical Mechanics Associates (AMA) has an immediate opening for a Materials Engineering Subject Matter Expert. The Manufacturing Applications Branch (MAB) is seeking a SME in ceramics to support the Engineering Directorate (ED) and Research Directorate (RD) at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). The work location is a materials casting laboratory environment that produces one-of-a-kind wind tunnel models and test articles. Responsibilities:The subject matter expert will work closely with researchers to develop unique ceramic hardware. A variety of materials (adhesives, resins, silica, silicone rubber, solvents, wax, etc.) will be used during the model development process. Molds will need to be created for casting models. Equipment such as band saws, drill presses, sanders, furnaces, kilns, and barrel rollers will be used frequently. Compensation for this role will be determined by a variety of factors to include but not be limited to education and relevant experience. $100,000-$155,000 Requirements:
