Description Professional - Clinical Summary: The Patient Safety Specialist II provides systemlevel support in patient safety and clinical risk management, supporting the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks that impact patient outcomes, quality of care, and organizational liability. This role requires application of evidencebased patient safety and risk management principles, promotes a Just Culture, and ensures alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards. The Specialist partners with clinical leaders, frontline staff, quality, legal, and executive leadership to investigate and monitor safety events, across the healthcare system using methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA). The Specialist provides education and consultation on patient safety, safety event reporting system, and risk management principles, and supports leadership and care teams in harm prevention strategies related to patient safety.
