Position Highlights

The Office of Undergraduate Medical Education is hiring clinical anatomy instructors. This is a part-time faculty position and is available immediately to assist with teaching in the Clinical Anatomy block during the fall semester.

Individuals will be required to attend instructor meetings and all the assigned first-year medical student labs for the block. In addition, they will be expected to perform duties as described below. The clinical anatomy laboratory is located in the Health Science Education Building (HSEB) on the downtown Phoenix Biosciences Core (PBC) campus.

The successful candidates will fulfill the responsibilities of a faculty member in an appropriate department, actively participate in teaching, and must qualify for an appointment at the rank of instructor.

This is a pool position and will only work during the fall semester each year.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Watch and be knowledgeable about all lectures and lab materials for assigned labs for the Clinical Anatomy block for the first-year medical students.
  • Attend all assigned laboratory sessions for the Clinical Anatomy block for first-year medical students.
  • Oversee small group exercises and dissections of the willed body donors.
  • Attend and participate in instructor meetings.
  • Provide competency assessments for assigned students.
  • Help set up, proctor and break-down practical exams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Hold a PhD, OTD or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Have at least one year of prior experience teaching dissection-based human gross anatomy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have at least one year of prior experience teaching the in clinical anatomy lab at the College of Medicine - Phoenix.
  • Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal communication and professionalism skills.
