What You'll Do
  • Drive specification sheets required for sourcing Mechanical Equipment for pressurized systems
  • Review all pressurized vessel drawings to ensure compliance with ASME BPVC Div VIII code
  • Lead process equipment selection, including tradeoffs and design
  • Compile Request for Quotation (RFQ) Documents for vendors and complete technical bid evaluations for determining the best vendor for Tesla
  • Evaluate vendor capability to meet project technical and lead-time goals
  • Conduct risk assessments on pressurized equipment to ensure safety and reliability
  • Ensure all requirements for ASME BPVC Div VIII Code are being followed through design, fabrication, and final inspections
  • Develop commissioning and ramp plan including process setpoints, KPIs, and go/no-go criteria
  • Coordinate with production engineers to develop SOPs, Standard Operating Conditions, Alarm Rationalization, etc.

What You'll Bring
  • Degree or Equivalent Expeirence in Mechanical Engineering (PE License (Texas) required)
  • 4-10 years experience in a mechanical engineering role with a focus in pressurized systems, large plant/refinery experience preferred
  • Strong fundamental understanding of engineering principles (e.g., mass & energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics)
  • Firm understanding of ASME BPVC Div VIII Code
  • Proficiency with FEA required (Ansys, COMPRESS, TANK, COMSOL)
  • Experience with Mechanical Design Software required (Autodesk, Solidworks)
  • Ability to use first-principles reasoning to fill knowledge gaps
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
  • Experience analyzing datasets and using data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) to build a business case or present data
  • Familiarity with International Codes and Standards (ASME, API, ISO, OSHA)
