What to Expect

As a senior member of the Cell Physics Modeling team, this Staff Cell Integration Engineer will serve as the primary technical interface between the swelling/mechanical characterization and modeling group and Tesla's vehicle, cell, and pack development programs. This role focuses on triaging incoming requests, managing priorities, and ensuring rapid delivery of insights. A strong electrochemistry and/or lithium-ion background combined with industry experience is highly desired. This role will enable expansion of current team's understanding to new programs.

What You'll Do
  • Contribute technically to complex swelling-related problems leveraging strong electrochemistry fundamentals
  • Actively participate in program meetings across multiple vehicle and cell platforms to represent team capabilities, communicate results, and translate program needs into concrete test plans, modeling tasks, or analysis campaigns
  • Serve as the central point of contact for all swell-related modeling, analysis, and characterization requests from programs; triage, prioritize, scope, and drive timely responses
  • Leveraging existing data pipelines, models, and analysis methods to answer questions for new programs and requests
  • Develop and maintain standardized workflows, request intake processes, and communication channels that allow the team to scale support without proportional increases in headcount
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrochemical, and lifetime modelers to ensure high-priority questions are answered quickly and accurately using the team's existing tools and models
  • Foster the team's culture of strong leadership, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving across Cell, Powertrain, and Vehicle organizations
