Description

The Business Intelligence Specialist III provides advanced data and analytics support to UCLA Health, enabling data-driven decision-making across the health system. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and managing complex databases that support efficient workflows and comply with regulatory requirements.

The incumbent partners with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to support performance improvement initiatives, delivering high-quality reports, analyses, and Tableau dashboards. They translate complex data into actionable insights and present findings to health system leaders and cross-functional teams.

This role also leads and manages data-driven projects, proactively identifying critical issues and developing effective solutions using PDCA and Lean methodologies. The Business Intelligence Specialist III works with a high degree of independence, collaborates effectively within a team environment, and leverages technology to optimize processes and enhance organizational performance.

This is a flex-hybrid role which will require you to be onsite as required by operational need; there are no reimbursements for travel to "home office" location. Each employee must complete a Hybrid Work Agreement with their manager which will outline arrangement parameters and aids both parties in fully understanding expectations. Arrangements are regularly evaluated, and are subject to termination.

Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is $86,400 - $184,800 annually. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately between the start and midpoint of this range.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

* Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, finance, business or a related field.

* Advance skill in Python, Tableau, SQL, R, Excel, SPSS, and PowerPoint

* 2+ years of experience in Clinical Data Analytics, Statistics, and Quality Measures

* 3+ years of experience in advance analytical and quantitative skills

* Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

* Project management skills

* Excellent understanding of the industry-specific issues, regulatory requirements, and current healthcare industry

* Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and creative environment

* Ability to think "outside-the-box" and be creative to accomplish departmental goals

* Ability to prioritize work and remain detail oriented

* Ability to lead System wide complex projects

* Excellent oral and written communication skills



PREFERRED:

MBA or MS in quantitative analytical fields

4+ year in Python, SQL, and Tableau experience

3+ year experience in healthcare industry

2+ year experience in data science (AI/ML), data management and data analysis

2+ year experience in project management
