Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager oversees Sunoco's fuel quality programs, including consumer complaint investigations, field surveillance, laboratory operations, and fuel testing. This role supports terminal operations, manages QA technicians across multiple markets, and partners closely with the Sunoco Performance Products team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead investigations into consumer fuel quality issues and recommend reimbursement decisions.

  • Provide guidance to Sunoco Insurance on claim handling.
  • Manage QA technicians and inspection schedules.
  • Direct inspections for routine compliance, suspected contamination, or crosshauling concerns.
  • Oversee laboratory operations, equipment maintenance, and testing accuracy.
  • Manage fuel testing programs for Performance Fuels, station samples, winter diesel, and terminal oversight.
  • Advise terminal personnel on product quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with response to contamination incidents.
  • Manage thirdparty inspection and testing orders.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in petroleum retail operations (compliance, product quality, delivery, or equipment engineering/maintenance).
  • Project management and organizational leadership experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and computer skills.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily officebased environment.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods (up to 50%).
  • Occasional overnight travel.
