SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking an HR Generalist who will serve as the onsite HR point of contact, providing end-to-end support for team members' HR needs. The person in this role will partner closely with headquarters and key stakeholders to ensure consistent, high-quality team member experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, manager coaching, disciplinary actions (in partnership with the HQ Employee Relations team), and compliance support.
    • Conduct and/or support investigations

    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations

  • Provide day-to-day coaching and feedback to leaders and team members to strengthen culture and enhance engagement on the job site.
  • Partner with project leadership to proactively assess workforce needs and ensure the site is staffed and supported for success.
  • Lead and support key team member experiences (including pre-boarding, onboarding, transitions and offboarding).

  • Plan and facilitate morale-building initiatives and recognition efforts to promote a positive, inclusive work environment.
  • Act as the HR liaison between project operations and HQ, ensuring consistent practices, communication, and experiences across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 4 years HR experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Labor Relations, or related field or equivalent related work experience
  • Experience in construction is preferred, ideally working on construction sites
  • Partner with Center of Excellence teams to implement HR programs and initiatives
  • Partner with team to solve employee relations issues
  • Have acute attention to detail/accuracy and written communication skills
  • Possess excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrate effective oral communication and active listening skills and are comfortable interacting with a variety of individuals via various methods (in-person, phone, email)
  • Have a positive and professional attitude and sound customer service skills

The base pay range for this role is $69,500 - $93,900. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.
