Catholic Charities is responsible for providing early learning coaching services to licensed childcare providers in eight counties throughout Central Washington. The Early Learning Coach responsibilities encompass continuous quality improvement supports for providers that include, but are not limited to, technical assistance, professional development, and coaching services. All activity will follow the service delivery areas and contract requirements. This position will provide services throughout Yakima County, including Granger, Sunnyside, Mabton, Toppenish and surrounding communities. Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally relevant and inclusive coaching services to licensed childcare providers by responding to the support needs of each program
- Developing and maintaining schedules for on-site and/or virtual visits based on program need.
- Assist licensed childcare providers through the Washington State Early Achievers Quality Recognition and Improvement System.
- Supports participants in building capacity around various domains including specific early learning topics, use of technology, navigating the state professional development system, and business practices.
- Obtain and maintain MERIT State Trainer Approval and reliability in relevant tools (FIND, WA-AIMH, etc.).
- Manage a caseload of referred childcare providers, assisting providers in reaching specific milestones over a distinct period of time.
- Participate in trainings or other professional development activities as required.
- Document work within 5 days of activity utilizing required data bases.
- May provide specialized services and trainings, including designation as the primary team trainer if assigned
- Represent Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington in the community as needed.
- Abide by Washington State law as a mandatory reporter of child abuse and neglect.

- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field required
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and 2 years related work experience preferred
Experience
- 2 years' experience working with young children in a group setting required
- Previous successful experience providing technical assistance or coaching to childcare providers, on-site and/or virtually preferred
- State Approved MERIT/STARS trainer or ability to apply
Special Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish preferred
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate; work is primarily off-site
- Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed and requested by your supervisor
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Ability to create and maintain timely documentation/data entry into electronic data systems
- Strong ability to communicate both written and verbal, which includes active listening.

Licensure, Registration, Certification
- Valid Washington State driver's license and agency minimum required liability insurance
- Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities liability insurance provider
- Department of Early Learning background check, Washington State Patrol clearance and fingerprinting when appropriate, as well as any vaccination requirements
Employment is conditional upon:
- Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm Wage Range: $24 - $28, depending on education and experience
