Primary Purpose of the Position
The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Winston-Salem State University invites applications for a nine month visiting faculty position at the rank of Visiting Professor beginning August 2026.

M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with evenings and weekend variable and dependent on program or department functions/need.

We welcome candidates with backgrounds gerontology with interests in working collaboratively to enhance the strengths of our behavioral sciences curricular and co-curricular programs. We seek exceptional candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence and mentoring undergraduate research, interdisciplinary teaching and research collaborations, program leadership, as well as engagement with and service to the broader public. While area of research specialty is open, we are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching programs make innovative methodological and theoretical contributions to the study of race, gender, class, ethnicity, and inequality. Applicants must have a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Gerontology, and a PhD in Gerontology or a related field, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a commitment to a liberal arts education in a diverse educational community.
