Role Overview:

Apex is seeking a Mid level industrial hygienist (IH) ready to travel throughout the United States to provide overarching occupational health and safety expertise to a portfolio of national clients in the aerospace, warehousing, manufacturing, and distribution industries. We have multi-decade relationships with our clients and work with them hand-in-hand to help them achieve their occupational health and safety, ergonomic, and safety engineering goals. This position entails supporting routine ongoing work and negotiation with numerous customer stakeholders, all of whom need to be satisfied with respect to project purpose, scope, and tactics.

This role willprovideonsiteand remoteIHsupport on a periodic basis depending on clientneed. Thelocation andduration of projectsare subject to change based on theclient's request. Projects and deployment mayrange from under 1weekto3 months.The role will entail a broad scope of IH supportsuch asstandard shop floor assessments,samplingand interpretation,andEHSfacility program improvement, implementation,and management.This role will also act as an advisor toclientson occupational safety and health issues.

As part of working with this portfolio of clients, this role will provide inputtoApex's client relationship managers and business development staff on potential new EHS support projects. This role willparticipatein business development activities as directed.

The right candidate will havetechnicalexpertisein occupational industrial hygiene withageneralbase ofhealth and safety knowledge.Theywill alsohavetheprojectmanagement andleadershipskillstoimplementa national program atalocal site. Perhaps mostimportantly, the ideal candidatewill be an energetic self-starter with the ability to workbothindependentlyand as a team toproduce results.

This candidatecanpermanentlyresideanywhere in the United States,understanding that this role will require travel and part time relocation. Travel costswithinreasonablerange of a major airport, lodging,and per diem will be provided foron-siteprojects.

  • Baselineindustrialhygienemonitoring forhexavalentchromium and otherverticalstandardchemicals as well as other regulated chemicals
  • Industrialventilationsurveys:paintbooths, downdraft tables,sandingbooths, laboratory hoods


What we're looking for:



  • Bachelor's degree with approximately 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Good interpersonaland organizational skills
  • CIH preferredbut notrequired
  • Electrical Magnetic Frequency (EMF) experience
  • Chemical and toxicology knowledge/background
  • Deep knowledge of vertical standards and programmanagement
  • Willing to travel
  • Experience with data management andreport preparation
  • A creative self-starter.
  • Ability to relyon experience and judgment paired with the overall work statement provided by the customer to plan andaccomplishgoals
  • Experienced in ensuringcompliance with all EHS/OSHA/ACGIH and NIOSHregulations
  • Trackschanges to laws and regulations thatimpactthe organization
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Ability to successfully multi-task
  • Strongsafety awareness and understanding of safe work practices
  • RepresentsApex's excellence to client stakeholders
  • Strong background in occupational health and safety sciences such as chemistry, physics, toxicology, radiation, safety,etc.
  • Strong skills in collecting, assessing,organizing,and summarizing data
  • Applicable experience in following regulatory methodologies for gathering impactful data
  • Ability to lead audits, inspections,and investigations and coordinate resolution of issues
  • Understandsemerging technology for the identification of potential hazards and control methods
  • Ability to collaborate withclientsto design, implement, execute, and report on an agreed-to service plan
  • Valid driver's licenserequired
  • Proficiencywith Microsoft Office suite

Travel Expectations:



  • Traveltoclient's facilitieslocatedthroughout the United States.


  • Typicallywhen deployed, schedule will befull time, onsite support (5days a week,8-hour days).
