The Operations Manager is responsible for directing and managing all production, maintenance and sanitation activities. Ensures product quality and adherence to all applicable standards. Directs and assists the following departments; Production/Manufacturing, Wrapping, Shipping, Transportation, Sanitation, Engineering and Human Resources. Ensures profitability through oversight of manufacturing, maintenance,

sanitation, shipping and transportation of goods.

In this role you will:



  • Guides, directs and manages all plant operations to ensure profit and quality goals. Ensures product quality and adherence to all applicable standards (FDA, QBA, OSHA, A.I.B, etc.).
  • Oversee relations between departments to ensure cooperation, teamwork and productivity.
  • Reviews and evaluates each department's operating budgets and prepares overall
  • presentation to owner for company operating budget.
  • Coordinates with HR Manager to ensure the execution of company's human resource and
  • labor relations policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Directs and manages the activities of ordering, shipping and transportation to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Represents company in all plant operations matters to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures (i.e. EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, etc.)
  • Maintains a good employee relation in all phases of the operation. Maintains safe working environment for all employees/contractors.
  • Participates in the development, implementation and enforcement of safety program. Participates in accident investigations.
  • Promotes employee safety in all areas of operations. Maintains membership on Safety committee.
  • Ensures all plant personnel maintain cleanliness of the work area.
  • Ensures proper G. M. P.'s are followed at all times.
  • Other related duties as assigned by ownership.


Essential Job Functions/Requirements



  • Extensive and progressive background in plant management and operations.
  • 4-year degree or equivalent industry training; Completion of a management skills training program; and, AMA Management Skills course.
  • Physically capable of moving to all areas of the plant, company facilities, community facilities and customer locations. Must be capable of reaching, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling as required in a production operation.
  • Able to view product and determine adherence to quality control standards including size, shape, color, cut, etc.
  • Able to generate written and verbal communications clearly and distinctly. Ability to read and review written communication, blueprints, schematics, etc.
  • Able to operate required office equipment.
  • Able to research, develop, implement and monitor required policies and procedures. Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during a shift, maintaining a normal range of motion in all extremities.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials.
  • Ability to use arms, hands and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools or controls.
  • Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings to ensure the safety of self and others in a fast-paced, hazard-sensitive environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and airborne particles, odors and fumes.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required by the position.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods using office equipment and computer systems.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective clothing for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
