As a Lead Respiratory Therapist, you'll deliver safe, accurate cardiopulmonary care while supporting the daily operations of the Respiratory Therapy Department. In this leadershipfocused role, you'll mentor team members, guide clinical practice, and help ensure cohesive, highquality care across the hospital.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Respiratory Therapist, you'll play a key role in both patient care and departmental leadership. You'll ensure smooth operations, mentor staff, and serve as a liaison throughout the hospital to promote unified, patientcentered care. Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a resource for RRTs, CRTs, and Respiratory Therapy Interns
  • Acting as a preceptor and mentor for students and new team members
  • Assisting the Department Director with scheduling, processes, policies, and current practice
  • Facilitating orientation and competency validation for new hires
  • Obtaining and evaluating patient data through chart review and physical assessment
  • Delivering safe, accurate respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary difficulties
  • Supporting cohesive communication and collaboration across hospital departments

This role is ideal for a clinically strong therapist who thrives in a leadership capacity and is willing to work nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Licensure / Certification / Registration

  • Graduate of an accredited respiratory program with at least an associate degree
  • Current Oklahoma RCP license or Provisional Letter (valid until Board meeting date listed)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required and maintained
  • BLS required
  • ACLS and PALS required within six (6) months of hire; annual recertification required
  • SECURE training required within six (6) months of hire
  • NRP preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years of clinical respiratory therapy experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Typing and basic computer skills required
