Gastroenterology Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO) - UNC Health Johnston

UNC Health Medical Group, in partnership with UNC Health Johnston, located in Smithfield, NC, is seeking a full-time GI Hospitalist physician to join their team.

This position would be a part of the team at UNC REX Digestive Health. UNC Rex Digestive Health has been providing exceptional high-quality gastroenterology care to patients in the Raleigh/Eastern, NC area for more than 50 years. It is one of the most advanced gastroenterology practices in the area.

Position Features:

• Procedures Required: EGD, colonoscopy, push enteroscopy, Video capsule endoscopy reading, ERCP is preferred but not required
• Procedure Volume: Average range of 8-12 per day
• Structure: HOPD cases followed by inpatient cases. APPs will be rounding and staff with the physician
• Schedule: 7 days on/7 days off
• During Monday to Friday of the 7 days on, hours are generally 7:00am - 5:00pm with scopes likely being done from 8:00am - 3:00pm
• Weekends during the 7 days are remote with APPs rounding. Physicians must be available to answer inpatient calls/triage. No current plan for weekend procedures.
• No night call.
