What this job involves -

The Financial Controls Director on the Project & Development Services (PDS) team at JLL plays a critical role in overseeing and managing project controls for client projects. This position is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of project planning from a financial standpoint, cost and reporting are executed to the highest standards. The Director will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to forecast project budgets to help determine when project spend can be recognized by month and year in alignment with client objectives. The PDS team is dedicated to delivering comprehensive solutions through an advisory-led approach, leveraging global and local expertise, insights, and technology to advance outcomes for clients.

Essential Duties

  • Lead the development, implementation, and management of project controls processes, focused on timing of costs in coordination with project schedules and risk assessment for all assigned projects.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of forecasts and schedules, and progress reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to establish project objectives, deliverables, and performance metrics.
  • Analyze project performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to project teams and leadership focused on timing of projects to ensure projects are meeting clients yearly spend targets.
  • Ensure compliance with JLL's project management standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Support the preparation of project financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop financial controls staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Coordinate with other JLL service lines and external partners to ensure integrated project delivery and client satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related field, or equivalent working experience
  • 10-15 years of construction industry experience with at least 5 years focused on project controls, estimating, or cost consulting
  • Proven track record developing accurate cost flow forecasts for complex commercial construction and renovation projects
  • Deep knowledge of construction means and methods, material costs, labor productivity, and market conditions
  • Expertise using multiple cost forecasting databases
  • Experience working with leadership teams with demonstrated ability to successfully communicate across teams
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methods including design-bid-build, design-build, and construction management
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency in cost forecasting software and advanced Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as CPE (Certified Professional Estimator), CCE (Certified Cost Engineer), PMP, or CCM
  • Experience in corporate real estate, tenant improvements, or occupied building renovations
  • Experience with Procore, e-Builder, or other project management platforms

Estimated compensation for this position:

140,000.00 - 160,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
