DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will need to proficiently operate, adjust, calibrate, and otherwise maintain various types of surveying instruments and equipment to perform required surveying activities. This equipment includes: electronic data collectors, total station instruments, GNSS receivers, auto and/or digital levels together with software applications for data collection and analysis, and software programs such as NGS online OPUS, PennDOT approved processing applications such CAD, sUAS Digital Photogrammetry, and Terrestrial scanning point cloud rendering. As a Survey Technician, you will use aforementioned equipment and software to establish horizontal and vertical control networks and perform various types of surveys requested by PennDOT Design, Construction and Maintenance Divisions in order to provide deliverable products to satisfy survey requests. Also, you will operate computers using CAD, in addition to other software applications to create deliverables such as, survey data point files, CAD drawing files, surface model files and alignment files. You will also be responsible for reading, interpreting, and verifying the accuracy of roadway, bridge and right of way plans, property boundary maps and deeds, along with additional documentation provided as project supporting information. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clearfield, PA. Telework arrangements are subject to change. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments; or
- One year of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments, and an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license
