FTE: 0.9, Shift: days, Schedule: 3- 12 hour shifts. alternating weekends.

Position Summary

The Unit Care Assistant is responsible for secretarial and patient care duties necessary for a smooth-running unit. The Unit Care Assistant collaborates to provide optimal plan of case based on age/diagnosis specific needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs direct and indirect patient care activities according to established policies and procedures and under the direction of the RN; processes physician/provider orders; participates in evaluating care plan and modifies plan to achieved desired results under the direction of RN; observes and reports changes in patient conditions
  • Maintains a safe and clean patient and environment
  • Completes all required documentation and data entry in keeping with established policies and procedures; collects and reports pertinent data regarding health status of patient/client including biological/psychological/social/emotional/spiritual determinants of health
  • Handles clerical duties on nursing unit; including answering telephone, relaying messages, keeping records, directing visitors, distributing mail, and transcribing physicians' orders
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information
  • Advocates for patient/family
  • Collaborates with all staff in the transfer/discharge of patients

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Previous acute care experience preferred. Previous medical office experience preferred
  • Washington State (DOH) Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • Current BLS Certification required

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $22.79 - $31.27 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
