THE POSITION

This position is responsible for human resource functions, recruitment and outreach, and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation's Diversity Inclusion for Vocational Excellence program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Administrative Officer 3, you will oversee and ensure all day-to-day support and service for OVR staff statewide. Work includes developing, implementing and communicating information to internal and external programs, staff, and stakeholders through presentations and communications. You will be responsible for statewide development and implementation of the agency's diversity, recruitment, and outreach functions in the Vocational Rehabilitation system. As human resource liaison, you can expect to plan and develop a diversity plan for OVR, analyze the effectiveness of hiring actions, and communicate any issues with Human Resources.

Additional duties to include:

  • Preparing and delivering presentations and representing the Executive Team at statewide events
  • Representing the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation to staff, stakeholders, participants, and the public in an effective and professional manner
  • Maintaining relationships with colleges and universities for internships
  • Maintaining data effectively, and accessing and analyzing electronic information
  • Providing technical assistance to managers in the field to assist with decision making regarding staffing

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • This position is Alternate Work Schedule eligible.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to a headquarters office. Headquarters may be flexible depending on the selected candidate. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $67,736.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
