Description

The Semel Institute is seeking a Staff Research Associate to support humansubjects research focused on behavioral and clinical neuroscience. In this role, you will help recruit and screen participants, schedule study visits, prepare assessment materials, and assist the research team during sessions. You will administer and score behavioral assessments, enter and manage study data, and contribute to smooth coordination across collaborating labs.

You will also support regulatory and administrative tasks, including preparing IRB submissions, processing amendments, and managing humansubject cash funds in accordance with project guidelines. Regular participation in lab meetings and coordination sessions with the PI and research staff is expected. This position offers handson experience in clinical research and is ideal for individuals interested in psychology, neuroscience, or related fields.

*Note, this is part-time limited role which may convert to career

Hourly range: $28.69-$34.21

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience working with infants, children, and families
  • Working in a research lab setting
  • Ability to work well with people, particularly children and their families
  • Knowledge about autism spectrum disorder and developmental disabilities
  • Knowledge of developmental assessments
  • Attention to detail; independent worker
  • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Flexibility to schedule work hours independently, occasionally before 9 or after 5 pm, or on weekends
  • Skill in operating a computer, particularly for word processing and data management (i.e. excel)

Preferred:


  • Spanish/English bilingual preferred
  • Minimum undergraduate degree; major in Psychology preferred
