Position: Water System Worker Job Status: Open – applications accepted until position is filled Compensation: $28.98 to $36.99/ hour DOE/Q
North Perry Avenue Water District, located in Bremerton, Washington, is seeking a full-time Water System Worker to join our team. We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individual who takes initiative and is eager to learn. No prior experience is required; however, related experience in the water industry and/or construction can be a plus.
This position assists with construction, facility maintenance, and overall operation of the district’s water system, essential to ensuring reliability and quality of the district’s water supply and distribution system.
This position reports directly to the Field Operations Supervisor and follows a four-day workweek schedule, Monday through Thursday from 6: 30 a.m. to 5: 00 p.m.

- Hourly pay of $28.98 to $36.99, depending on experience and qualifications
- Combined leave accrual of 16 hours per month

- 4/10 work schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6: 30am – 5: 00pm

Example of Duties:
- Assist with installation, inspection, repair and maintenance of water mains, service lines, meters, fire hydrants, and other distribution components.
- Assist with maintenance on water system facilities, including treatment systems, pumps, buildings, and reservoirs
- Assist with maintenance of facilities such as landscaping, painting of buildings and/or fire hydrants
- Respond to routine customer service requests as assigned by the office or supervisor
- Maintain accurate work records and enter data into the asset management system
- Assist with meter reading as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Necessary Skills and Abilities:
- Communicate clearly and effectively, including verbal, written and electronic communication
- Ability to consistently deliver high quality work both collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision
- Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid Washington State driver’s license
- Position: Water System Worker
- Ability to meet insurance requirements
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, perform semi-heavy labor in a variety of weather conditions; must be available to work flexible hours, including nights/weekends in emergency situations
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months
- Current flagging and traffic control certifications, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months
