Description We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fiber Optic GIS Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of fiber optic networks and hands-on experience with ArcGIS, enterprise GIS platforms, system integration, and Python scripting. This role is central to supporting our fiber optic network planning, sales, deployment, and maintenance activities through GIS-based solutions and automation. Design, develop, and maintain GIS datasets related to fiber optic networks, including routes, assets, strand management and associated infrastructure. Utilize and ArcGIS and enterprise GIS tools for mapping, spatial analysis, and data management. Integrate GIS data with other business systems (e.g., asset management, work order, and customer management systems) to streamline workflows and improve data availability. Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing, automation, and integration tasks. Collaborate with engineering, IT, and field operations teams to support fiber optic network design, construction, and maintenance projects. Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all GIS platforms and outputs. Provide GIS support and training to internal stakeholders as needed. Prepare clear documentation, maps, and reports to communicate network information and project status. Skills arcgis, PowerBi, CAD, Python, Scripting, SQL Top Skills Details arcgis,PowerBi,CAD,Python,Scripting,SQL Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with web GIS platforms, such as ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS. 3+ years of professional experience in GIS, with a focus on fiber optic networks or telecommunications. Proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise. Experience with field data collection tools, picture collection and mobile GIS applications. Experience with field surveys, CAD systems, red lines and as-built documentation. Experience integrating GIS with enterprise business systems and databases. Advanced skills in Python for GIS automation and data manipulation. Strong understanding of spatial databases, data models, and geoprocessing workflows. Familiarity with fiber optic network architecture, terminology, and industry standards. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with 3GIS, OSPInsight or other fiber strand management applications. Knowledge of additional scripting or programming languages (e.g., SQL, JavaScript, ModelBuilder). Previous experience supporting fiber optic or telecommunications projects. Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
