Summary

The Specialty Technician Supervisor is a nationally certified pharmacy technician position supporting specialty pharmacy services in the centralized specialty pharmacy call center. The Specialty Technician Supervisor is a subject matter expert in specialty pharmacy medication access, including prescription billing, benefit investigation, prior authorization processes, financial assistance, and coordination of prescription fulfillment. This position oversees daily operations in the specialty pharmacy call center, leading workflow optimization and staff professional development through direct supervision of Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinators technicians. This position leads collaboration across specialty pharmacy teams to foster a strong peer network among clinic and call center technicians. Assists the Central Specialty Pharmacy Manager with execution of strategic initiatives pertaining to call center specialty pharmacy operations. Monitors key performance indicators and works with Central Specialty Pharmacy Manager to lead operational priorities, maintain excellent service levels and provider satisfaction, and optimization of patient health outcomes.

Job Description:

Baptist Health is recruiting a Certified Pharmacy Technician Supervisor for our Central Pharmacy in LaGrange, KY!

  • Leads staff selection and development of Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinators, sharing bestpractices, specialty pharmacy medication access expertise, and direction for optimizing workflowefficiencies to improve patient health outcomes.

  • Provides direction, expertise, and support for Specialty Pharmacy Care Coordinators to leadexceptional patient experience, ensuring Baptist patients perceive Baptist pharmacy as a preferred choice.

  • Acts as a positive role model during change, supporting teams through specialty pharmacy ITenhancements, new operational workflows, accreditation activities, regulatory survey preparations,and changes to day-to-day operations.

  • Responsible for budgetary oversight and compliance for Pharmacy Care Coordinator team.

  • Partners with Specialty Pharmacy Manager - System Clinics to implement system specialtypharmacy strategy across various specialty clinics managing multiple specialty disease states.

  • Supports the manager to collaborate with hospital community, specialty clinic, and central pharmacyteams across the system to ensure alignment and consistency with specialty pharmacy workflows.

  • Reviews operational, compliance, productivity, and financial reports and partners with SpecialtyPharmacy Manager - System Clinics to share insights and recommended actions.

  • Develops task analysis evaluations and reviews expectations with Specialty Pharmacy CareCoordinators to ensure awareness of standards to be achieved.

  • Maintains deep knowledge of specialty pharmacy accreditation standards, state and federalpharmacy regulations, and delivers education to the care coordinator team.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy upon hire date.

  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Certification within 6 months.

  • Two years pharmacy technician experience + leadership experience or 5 years pharmacy technician experiencerequired.

  • Prior experience with third party billing and financial counseling required.

  • Prior experience with Epic EMR preferred.

  • Prior experience with specialty pharmacy accreditation preferred.
