Job Summary:



  • Leads and coordinates quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established.
  • Assists Quality Manager with mix designs and testing of concrete products to meet customer quality requirements at best or at lowest.
  • Create a daily schedule for Quality control technicians.
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.


Duties and/or Responsibilities:



  • Develops and analyzes statistical date and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers.
  • Directs workers engaged in testing or material at all concrete plants.
  • Plants, promotes and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
  • May investigate and adjust customer complaints regarding quality.
  • Identify the needs, hire, train, coach and schedule personnel to meet the needs of labs at asphalt or concrete plants.
  • Purchase parts, supplies and new equipment while maintaining the set budgets.
  • Assure tests are accurately done and results are communicated in a timely manner to all stakeholders.
  • Assist Quality Control Manager with research for quality and design of materials for bidding projects, design and implement better methods, and research new techniques and equipment.
  • Oversee the repairs, maintenance and housekeeping of labs and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operations/repair, etc.)
  • Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  • Performs other duties assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years quality control and mix design management.
  • Ability to provide and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
