Overview
Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Data Architect. Primary Function: Responsible for enterprise information and data architecture design and development. Assists with the implementation of the company's data architecture strategy. Leads and contributes to the design, development, and review of architectural deliverables. Understands data warehousing design and development, ETL processes and database management. Contributes to the development and maintenance of data applications towards analytical and operational use cases spanning data, software, and infrastructure architecture and assures the data application architecture aligns to business and enterprise technology strategy and architectural standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and establish sound architectural deliverables in alignment with business and enterprise technology strategies and standards with the goal of building a data ecosystem for persisting, processing, consuming, and analyzing data.
- Maintain end-to-end diagrams of dataflow between applications and services, third-parties, data stores, data pipelines, ETL jobs, and other data movement for the enterprise.
- Design and lead the implementation of data integration solutions supporting data at various latencies up to near real-time data.
- Provide direction and leadership in the building and delivery of data reporting capabilities including KPIs, dashboards, traditional reports, and beyond.
- Assist with the development of data movement and service strategies including ETL, batch and real-time.
- Provide strategic thinking and solutions. Proactively assess the current state of the technology and identify gaps and overlaps. Capture future state technology vision in actionable, context-specific roadmaps.
- Lead the adoption of cloud data technologies while supporting the transition from a matured technology stack with minimal disruption to critical data applications.
- Develop and enforce policies around data quality, data security, data retention, data stewardship, and proactively identify and support project impacts.
- Serve as an expert-level technical resource across multiple initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with architectural standards and processes.
- Interacts and collaborates with a broad variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

- Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- Minimum 10 years experience working in complex technical environments is required.
- Minimum 5 years experience in database or application development using relational databases, big data, and cloud data technologies is required.
- Minimum 3 years experience driving technical architecture decisions at an enterprise level is required.
- Minimum 3 years experience architecting transactional and operational reporting and analytical solutions - data warehouse, data mart, data lake, reference data, and/or master data management; and enabling enterprise-grade BI, Reporting, and Analytics solutions is required.
- Minimum 2 years experience building, designing data applications leveraging Microsoft Azure Cloud services and tools is required.
- Relevant technical certification(s) in the area of enterprise architecture frameworks (i.e. TOGAD, Zachman, BIAN) are preferred.
