Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, the Formulations Technician is responsible for preparing various solutions used in the production of Chembio Diagnostic products, while ensuring compliance with established laboratory procedures and regulatory requirements.


Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare buffers, conjugations, test lines, control lines, and other components used in Chembio Diagnostic products.
  • Operate laboratory equipment effectively and safely; maintain equipment and work areas in accordance with established procedures.
  • Identify and report any deviations from established processes.
  • Perform daily and weekly instrument calibrations as required.
  • Maintain and update laboratory documentation in accordance with QA requirements, including equipment logs and calibration records.
  • Maintain accurate and organized batch records while serving either the operator or witness during procedures.
  • Assist with the timely closing of work orders and labor entries in NetSuite.
  • Support the training and onboarding of laboratory technicians and staff as needed.
  • Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment and restock supplies as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, including OSHA regulations and requirements set by the USDA and FDA.
  • Follow all current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) guidelines.


Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a science-related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of laboratory experience
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and standard laboratory practices.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate record-keeping skills
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities
