As part of our Architecture practice at HDR, you'll contribute to the design and delivery of spaces and experiences that advance community well-being around the world. In the role of Landscape Architecture Design Intern:
- Support project teams with drafting, modeling, and visualization using tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, LandFX, Revit, or other design software.
- Assist in developing concept designs, plans, sections, diagrams, and renderings for urban, civic, and landscape architecture projects.
- Conduct site analysis, research, and precedent studies to support early-stage project development.
- Contribute to the preparation of presentations, reports, and graphics for internal reviews and client deliverables.
- Participate in team meetings, design charrettes, and coordination efforts with project partners.
- Provide general project support, such as organizing materials, refining drawings, and maintaining file standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Landscape Architecture program (BLA, BSLA, MLA) or related design field.
- Strong graphic communication skills, including hand sketching and digital representation.
- Knowledge of plant materials, grading, and site design fundamentals is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency in design software such as: Revit (+Environment), AutoCAD (+LandFX), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and GIS tools
Required Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Attention to detail
- Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
