Production Operator - 2nd Shift

This position works under close supervision and is primarily responsible for operating in the Bottle Packaging department. This position works second shift with ours of 2:30pm-10:30pm, Monday-Thursday. Overtime is possible on weekends.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

• Setting up (assembling and disassembling), operating, adjusting, cleaning and sanitizing equipment to package products within quality standards and according to procedures.
• Accurately weighing and/or counting product.
• Performing minimal maintenance and preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment as required, and when appropriate.
• Assisting others in the areas trained as required by production demands or by the direction of the Supervisor.
• Printing and applying labels to products.
• Verifying lot and batch numbers and maintaining accurate production records, and equipment logs.
• Assisting in developing and improving SOPs.
• Following all workplace safety protocols and always ensure safe operation of equipment.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Participating in safety training and reporting any incidents or hazards immediately.
• Working closely with other operators, technicians, and supervisors to meet production deadlines.
• Participating in continuous improvement activities using Lean concepts and principles.
• Troubleshooting and/or identify equipment failures or problems.
• Completing necessary paperwork and/or data entry for production and/or inventory records.
• Adhering to all GMP, including sanitary requirements, Safety, and Standardized Work procedures.
• Ensure training is completed on time.

To succeed you must hold:

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process including conversion of weight and volume in the metric system.
• Ability to read and follow a production journal to produce batches.
• Ability to operate a pallet walker and/or forklift, preferred.
• Ability to use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, wrench) for assembly and disassembly of equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers regarding the status of the production process.
• Basic computer skills. ERP system knowledge (SAP), preferred.
• These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with experience in a production environment preferred.

Expected salary range:$19 an hour plus shift premium
