The Faculty Fellow for New Academic Leaders' Training provides oversight for a cohort-based 9-month leadership development program for newly appointed department chairs and program directors. While the program has an established structure, emphasizing community, support, and training (CSAT), the Faculty Fellow has flexibility to develop a proposal outlining their vision, priorities, and approach for the fellowship term compatible with their leadership philosophy, skills, and experience.
The Fellow serves as both a facilitator and program designer and works in consultation with the AVC for Faculty Affairs to refine content, introduce new approaches, and adapt the program to evolving campus needs.
Program focus areas may include program and departmental leadership, team development, faculty evaluation and support, budget and resource stewardship, institutional policy and compliance, communication and conflict engagement, and unit and university strategic alignment in support of CU Denver's mission.

What you will do:
* Develop a program syllabus outlining goals, structures, and events
* Plan and deliver orientation and ongoing program sessions
* Facilitate peer learning and discussion among participants
* Update and adapt program materials and resources
* Communicate relevant campus and system information
* Partner with OFA on program assessment and continuous improvement
Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
* Current CU Denver rostered faculty member
* Leadership experience in management of an academic unit or program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge: Knowledge of leadership theory and development as it relates to higher education administrative units. Understanding of best practices for developing and delivering training programs..
Skills: Able to design and lead engaging workshops. Competence in clear written and verbal communication. Able to build trust and rapport with faculty participants and different academic units.
Ability: Able to mentor new academic leaders in leadership competencies, provide constructive feedback and support growth.

* This position follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
Mental, Physical, and/or Environmental Requirements
* The ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work; often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
