Job Description




As a Security Officer - Overnight High Rise Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and respond with professionalism and calm. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to building occupants and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government facility.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and identify conditions that may require attention.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, observe for unusual activity, and address questions and/or concerns from the public in a professional manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation when appropriate and coordinating with site contacts and/or local responders.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and observations in required logs and reports, and communicate relevant information to oncoming personnel and/or site management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have 6+ months of security experience.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
