We bring data-driven insights that fuel high-level partnership and strategies across our vendor clients and Target. We are trusted strategic partners and category experts, providing proactive analytics and actionable recommendations that help support our client's goals and drive growth at Target and beyond. The Role: We are seeking a talented individual to join our organization as part of our Consumer & Market Insights team. This individual should have 5+ years of relevant CPG/Retail/Digital Management experience and proficiency in Circana, Nielsen and/or Numerator syndicated data systems. As the ideal candidate, you must be a self-starter, adaptable, highly organized, a creative problem solver and team collaborator. What you'll do:
Develop deep relationships with 2-5 direct clients that lead to regular collaboration of the strategies and tactics of their business and support the evolving needs of the brand.
- Be the expert in your client's product and category. Utilize multiple sources of data and your own analytical power to create robust data-driven deep-dives with clear insights, supportive of brand initiatives and inclusive of white space opportunities for both client and retailer.
- Deliver your analytics and insights through purpose-driven, influential, storytelling.
- Create reporting to analyze performance and provide actionable insights and strategic recommendations regarding key pillars of partnership at Target.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners at JL Buchanan to produce recommendations and results for our clients.
- Proactively identify and communicate client advantages and potential adversity to motivate a collective approach toward success.
- Interested in learning primary research techniques and participating in studies to uncover shopper sentiment and behavior.
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years of relevant CPG/Retail/Digital Management experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Mathematics, Data Science (or related field)
- Background in traditional category management support with Target preferred
- Advanced expertise in Circana or Nielsen Market Data
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and an entrepreneurial spirit, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, storytelling and organizational skills
- Collaborative with ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization but can work with a large degree of autonomy. Direct junior members of the team on occasion

Leverages and organizes data for insight driven analytics in support of new item initiatives and assortment opportunities Develops promotion and merchandising recommendations Expert in insights best practices with the ability to identify evolving needs and actively develop solutions Works independently with minimal supervision to solve complex problems Proactively identifies and is responsible for making improvements to team processes enhancing the quality of deliverables across the team; viewed as a go-to resource, having a specialty within a system or process Interacts with client partner senior leadership to develop longer term brand strategies Has established relationships and collaborates with team members Independently manages a varying number of clients with mostly complex categories, relationships, and business requests Engages in the ongoing business planning process for each assigned client, focusing on shopper-based strategies and initiatives Ensures that strategies and deliverables are aligned with clients' goals and expectations Actively identifies opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Anticipates business needs by proactively identifying challenges and opportunities Creates insight driven presentations with actionable tactics and strategies Proficient in secondary data sources and uses them to develop presentation depth Develops creative presentations with an eye toward storytelling, focused on flow, visualizations, headlines, and using branding guidelines Proactively conducts secondary research to find answers and share solutions with clients and peers Actively participates in team building and best practice sharing to increase team effectiveness Mentors and coaches new team members
Qualifications
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Technical certifications are a plus) Experience Requirements: 6-8 years experience in relevant field (Syndicated Data and Category Management experience preferred) Travel requirement: No travel requirements

Environmental & Physical Requirements Office / Sedentary Requirements: Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically, requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may require the ability to lift up to 10lbs.
