Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Platforms, the VP, Scientific Marketing's primary role is to direct and manage Cytek's commercial interactions with the scientific community, including KOL development / management, technical competitive product / service intelligence, and data generation to support Cytek's value propositions instrumentation, software, reagents, and other product offerings.

Specific Responsibilities include:

Platforms:

  • Works with platform leaders to identify data needs to support Cytek' s value propositions for instruments, reagents, software, and targeted applications of our products.
  • Support product marketing in collecting end-user requirements for new products and services
  • Participate with product marketing at identifying alpha and beta testing sites / early access sites, as well as reviewing data generated throughout the testing.
  • Lead the Scientific Marketing team to generate data to support Cytek's product value propositions, and ensure data is available for use in presentations, collateral, web content, scientific publications, posters, or webinars
  • Using Scientific Marketing team drive the company's scientific and technical understanding of new product capabilities or concepts to ensure Cytek's leadership position in new application areas (e.g., imaging cytometry)
  • Work with Clinical side of business to develop compelling scientific, economic, and public health-related content to drive interest and commercial success of Cytek's clinical products and services in conjunction with Product Marketing and Scientific Marketing teams

Marketing Communications:

  • Works with downstream marketing to develop customers facing technical documents.
  • Provides technical review and scientific input on marketing collateral, presentation materials, web or email marketing content, etc.
  • Participates in the planning, identification, generation, and revision of scientific information to be presented at User Group Meetings (UGMs), trade shows, road shows and other customer-facing events.
  • Leads and/or provides guidance on scientific content for webinars, commercial tutorials and UGMs that showcase how our products are being used towards specific applications. Examples may include EV, Car-T, Microbiome, etc.
  • Responsible for working within the flow cytometry community to find the right subject matter experts to participate in customer-facing events and facilitates when needed the development of content.
  • Deliver scientific presentations, as needed, at high profile accounts or events.,

Education and Scientific Training:

  • Identifies opportunities to support educational efforts in the flow community that allow solidifying Cytek' s scientific and technical relevance in the field.
  • Assists in advanced or continuing education for the field teams, as requested.
  • Supports transfer knowledge to the Technical Applications Team to maintain our status as scientific and technical experts in the field.
  • Assists developing and reviewing Cytek's educational material, both for online and in-person customer training

Commercial Collaborations:

  • Selection and development of commercial collaborations aimed at scientific data generation to support value propositions.
  • Works with Field Applications Support (FAS), Sales, and Platforms teams to support centers of excellence as needed.
  • Participate in collaborations, data reviews, and provide recommendations based on scientific and business needs.

Requirements, qualifications, and competencies:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Advanced degree in biology, medicine, biochemistry, biotechnology, or equivalent field required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in progressive commercially driven scientific, research and development roles, and participating in cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams on complex projects.
  • Proven diverse experience and achievements in a technical leadership role in a related field.
  • Research Use Only product experience mandatory, IVD experience preferred
  • Ability to empower and inspire a growing team working on solving novel and complex challenges.
  • Able to align cross-functional team with the commercial growth strategy, ensuring the flexibility necessary to overcome unforeseen development challenges.
  • A collective-minded team builder with the pragmatic ability to fold in external resources when required.
