Nurse Navigation - Manager

JOB SUMMARY:

The role provides daily clinical and operational oversight of nursing teams who handle non-life-threatening calls. They manage a tiered structure of Team Leads and Supervisors, aligning team efforts with the organization's strategic goals and ensuring quality patient care.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the call center, ensuring efficient patient flow, appropriate resource allocation, and adherence to established protocols. This includes monitoring performance metrics, identifying trends, and implementing improvement plans.

* Clinical Leadership and Quality Assurance: Drive the continuous improvement of the quality and safety of clinical practices. The Nurse Manager ensures all legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., state nursing practice acts, TJC standards) are met and sustained. They often serve as an escalation point for complex clinical cases, modeling sound clinical judgment.

* Process Improvement: Plan and implement long-term strategic projects to improve efficiency, quality, service, and affordability. The Nurse Manager collaborates with senior leadership to develop strategic plans and ensures that team goals align with the broader organizational mission.

* Build strong communication loops between frontline staff, team leads, supervisors, and senior management. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other stakeholders to achieve optimal patient care and service delivery.

* Staff Management and Development: Directly manage Nurse Team Leads and Supervisors, providing coaching, mentorship, and structured performance management strategies to help them grow into effective leaders. This involves:

o Handling staffing issues, including recruitment, scheduling, and retention.

o Fostering professional development and career growth pathways.

o Ensuring staff competency and adherence to scope of practice.

o Promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

* Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

* Compact unrestricted RN License with the ability to acquire licensure from other states required.

* Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field preferred

* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 1 year in a leadership role with direct reports required, 2 or more years preferred.

* Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

* Proficient in VoIP telephone, recording, and other call center equipment/software programs preferred

* Strong organization, project management, and problem-solving skills.

* Knowledge of Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word.

* Knowledge of performance evaluation, customer service metrics, and ability to coach diverse teams
