Join us as a Field Superintendent - Modernization Your main responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for managing field technicians in the daytoday operations related to the installation of hydraulic, gearless, and geared elevator modernizations. They will actively participate in field surveys for prospective modernization projects and assist in preparing modernization proposals and bids. The candidate must be able to determine the required scope of work and the necessary manpower to complete each project efficiently and profitably. Knowledge of elevator equipment and parts is preferred, as the candidate will need to identify the correct components for all phases of a project and will be responsible for ordering these parts. Additional responsibilities include: * Build a team environment by leading field technicians * Manage training and development of field technicians on established processes, tools and standards * Foster excellent communication among team members while maintaining good working relationships with the local union * Assure that each modernization project meets Company quality and safety standards, as well as all contract requirements. * Monitor job completion and drive efficiency * Implement customer and Company requirements for quality, performance reliability and passenger safety for modernization projects * Support the local sales team in estimating modernization bids and investigating and resolving customer complaints * Develop a spirit of teamwork and dedication to quality among all employees * Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services and procedures What you bring
* BS/AS degree in Engineering, Management, Supervision or Business required. In lieu of degree, Journeyman Technician experience with minimum 5 years in field required. * Minimum 3 years experience in either the elevator industry, construction industry, or in a related building systems industry. * Prior experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred. * Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred. * Computer proficiency required. Experience in Microsoft Office suite software, Lotus Notes and SAP is preferred. * Must have ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing. What's in it for you?
