Job Description




As a Security Officer - Overnight Roving Patrol in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine patrols of assigned areas, stay visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support site operations through clear communication and strong customer service. You will document observations, respond to requests, and assist with access control and incident reporting. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a chemical and/or petrochemical facility.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and communicating with site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, processing areas, and perimeter routes, checking for unusual conditions, unsecured access points, and operational concerns.
  • Control access at gates and/or checkpoints by verifying identification, directing traffic flow, and monitoring deliveries and contractors in accordance with site requirements.
  • Operate radios, phones, and/or monitoring systems to report hazards, mechanical issues, and unauthorized activity, helping to deter inappropriate behavior and supporting site operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
