Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Agency Patrol PT in Portland, OR, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. You will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter unwanted activity, and respond to incidents with calm professionalism. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site personnel and public partners, and deliver people-first customer service. You will succeed through teamwork, integrity, and an agile, reliable, innovative approach to security-related operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential issues.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; provide assistance as needed and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor and control access points by verifying identification, managing visitor entry, and maintaining access logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Complete detailed reports on patrols, incidents, and security-related observations, and communicate updates to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
