Join USfalcon and lead a mission-critical program supporting the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and USSTRATCOM. The Security Specialist, SME serves as a vital team member responsible for the execution, performance, and success of Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS) across Business, Engineering, and Cybersecurity functions. Operating in a classified, fast-paced environment, this role serves as a primary interface with government stakeholders and provides "day-to-day" multi-disciplinary security support to ensure the protection of National Security Objectives.

JOB SUMMARY: The Security Specialist, SME will assist the Air Force Cognizant Security Authority in the oversight of National Security Objectives. This role provides comprehensive support for Collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) activities through integrated security' operations. The Security Specialist, SME will perform analytical and operational work to implement policies, procedures, and training methods designed to protect personnel, facilities, and information from unauthorized disclosure, espionage, or loss. The Security Specialist ensures a standardized protection focus throughout the program acquisition and sustainment lifecycle.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:



  • Provides "day-to-day" support for Collateral and SCI activities, including Information, Personnel, Operations (OPSEC), Industrial, and Communications Security (COMSEC)
  • Assists in writing and developing OPSEC plans, Security Classification Guides, Program Protection Plans, Emergency Action Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Reviews and monitor security clearances via DISS and JPAS; verify access eligibility, process Visitor Certification Requests, and ensure SF-312 NDAs are current
  • Reviews outbound correspondence and public release materials to ensure proper CUI markings, classifications, and distribution statements per DoD and AF guidance.
  • Manages the preparation, distribution, and receipt of classified mail; performs authorized destruction of classified materials and CUI
  • Creates and delivers security awareness briefings, brochures, and posters to educate unit personnel on counterintelligence threats and trends
  • Assists IP Leads with inspection preparations and the creation of (Management Internal Control Toolset) MICT artifacts; perform data entry into security system databases
  • Serves as a COMSEC Responsible Officer, Secure Voice Responsible Officer, or alternate equipment custodian as directed by the IP Lead


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 10 years of experience with Security Specialist functions within the DOD environment
  • Thorough understanding of counterintelligence threats, trends, and multi-disciplinary security aspects (Industrial, Personnel, InfoSec)
  • Expert-level familiarity with DISS for clearance tracking and visitor control
  • Basic knowledge of DD Form 254 and its role in the Air Force acquisition process
  • Ability to give formal and ad-hoc security/force protection briefings to large groups or individuals
  • Highly familiar with DoD and Air Force security policy manuals, directives, and instructions


PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Experience supporting AFNWC/NCC or similar Air Force acquisition directorates
  • Experience managing NATO, FRD/RD, and CNWDI access requirements
  • Proficiency in creating digital and physical security education products (presentations, posters, brochures)
  • Background in MICT and artifact development for government inspections


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; additional years of professional security experience may be used in lieu of degree requirement
  • Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) or related CDSE certifications preferred
